Dermaplanning in an advanced method of exfoliation using a sterile scalpel to gently remove the top layer of the skin calls and vellous hair (often known as peach fuzz).

How It Works

Your skin will be cleansed with one of our medical grade cleansers and prepared for treatment, a sterile single use blade will then be used on the treatment area, several passes will be made to remove the dead skin and vellous hair.  Treatment is carried out by registered nurses, who have been trained in this delicate procedure.  Dermaplanning can be carried out as a stand-alone procedure or as a Dermapeel, which adds a chemical peel to enhance the overall results.

Consultation

A free no obligation skin consultation is offered before treatment to discuss your needs and suitability for treatment with one of our experienced nurse prescribers, at this appointment we will address your particular areas of concerns and together we will form a treatment plan. Should you choose to go ahead, subject to a full medical history, you can have treatment on the same day.

Treatment Areas

Dermaplanning is only suitable for the face.  Treatment is suitable for all skin types; however you should avoid treatment if you have active acne or any infection at the treatment area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe, does it hurt?

Dermaplanning is a painless procedure and with the correctly trained practitioner it is very safe.

How long does it take to work?

Your skin will feel smooth and fresh immediately following your treatment, the vellous hair will be gone which can help make up sit nicer on the skin.

Treatment takes about 30 minutes and treatments every 4 weeks give the best results

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are very rare, you will need to remain still during the procedure as the blade will be close to your skin. The vellous hair will not grow back thicker or darker unlike the other hairs on our body.

If you have a dermapeel then the skin can be red following treatment, please see chemical peels for more information on this.

What about aftercare advice?

Following your treatment, we will apply suitable aftercare creams.
